After loading the marker, Isaac fights his way back to the docking bay where he intends to fly down to Aegis VII with Kyne, Daniels and Nicole. According to Kyne, the only way to defeat the monster is to seal it away using the marker, which becomes Isaac's goal. As Kyne told us earlier in the game, The Hive Mind is a gargantuan monster that was released after the Ishimura mined into the surface of Aegies VII.Īfter the Hive Mind was released, it got to work fast, killing the colonists and spreading the infection. Isaac takes down Mercer and his hunter, loads the marker onto a shuttle and prepares to fly out of the hangar towards Aegis VII, honouring his promise to Doctor Kyne that he'll use the marker to defeat The Hive Mind. Dead Space's ending truly begins during the final moments of Chapter 11.
